Erin Cartner

Erin Cartner is a master’s student from Mocksville, North Carolina. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s in Biological and Agricultural Engineering in May of 2023. Erin joined the stormwater engineering group as a graduate student in August 2023. Her current research project focuses on optimizing bioswale design with a field-scale study. She is currently monitoring three bioswales, located in Hillsborough North Carolina, with different hydraulic loading ratios for volume reduction and pollutant removal rates. The goal of this research is to provide bioswale design guidance and to study the pollutant removal efficiency of the practice. Outside of her research, Erin enjoys going on hikes, gardening, and baking.
