Andrew Lyons

Hometown: South Charleston, Ohio
B.S.: Ohio University–Meteorology, Minor- Mathematics
Background: I really enjoy severe weather and hurricanes. I transitioned into  agriculture my junior year, which led to me doing an honors thesis looking at how climate change affects crop production and determining which storm mode had the most destruction on a field, such as flooding.
Research Focus: Field Monitoring of Oldcastle Biopod BioFilters and PerkFilter Cartridge Filters, aiming to explore the water quality performance to see how the system removes pollutants from stormwater runoff.
Interesting things about me: I love fishing and any kind of sport whether I’m playing or watching. I had the opportunity to go storm chasing in the plains for two weeks where we were able to chase 3 storms that produced Tornadoes.
