As tens of thousands of Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) are installed in North Carolina and other states, their long-term function is assumed and critical. However, research and observation has identified common SCM failures. NC State is investigating the cause and impacts of clogging patterns in permeable pavement, outlet obstruction in constructed wetlands, and excess sedimentation in bioretention.
